If I hide an element from the panel - there is no unhide button?

Yes there is, expand the panel, hover the hidden element, click the crossed eye icon, and it will be visible again.

To hide an item, click the eye icon in the panel

To show an item, expand the panel to show everything (alt + x or ⌥ + x), then click the crossed eye icon in the panel
